Accessories for Kitchen Lighting Under Cabinets & Furniture
For your new kitchen lighting, you need not only lamps and light sources but also drivers, switches, and possibly extension cables. Here, we have gathered all the products you need to achieve modern and functional kitchen lighting, as well as products that can take your lighting to the next level!
What is a Driver?
Drivers, transformers, or power supplies are all names for the same thing. A driver is simply a device that converts 220V and 230V, which you usually have in the wall socket, to 12V or 24V needed for the lamp. It is a key component for LED lighting and LED strips to function in our homes. For all the lamps we offer, there are also drivers available, but if you don't want to think about which driver to choose, our complete kits include everything you need.
Choosing Switches – Touch Sensor, Motion Sensor, or Remote Control
When installing new kitchen lighting, there are some essential choices to make. First and foremost, which lamps and where you need the lighting. Once you have chosen the type of lamp and placement, the next decision is how you want to control your lamps – and this is where our switches come into play! One option is to connect the kitchen lighting under the cabinets to existing wall switches. If you have available switches, this can be a good option, but it's common to control the lighting with a separate switch placed near the kitchen cabinets.
At It’s Design, we offer three different modern, wireless switches that can dim LED lighting and, of course, turn it on and off. For kitchen lighting, we recommend either our touch sensor, which you touch to turn on and off, or hold your finger on to dim the lighting. For more control, we offer the remote control – the control box – as an option. This allows you to divide the kitchen lighting into four different zones. With the control box, you can dim different zones and choose which zones to have on, creating the exact lighting you need in your kitchen!
Our last switch is a motion sensor, which works perfectly in rooms or cabinets you want to light up as soon as you enter, such as a kitchen drawer, pantry, or closet. The motion sensor reacts to any movement and turns off after 15 seconds of stillness.
When choosing switches, primarily consider your needs at home and place them in easily accessible locations. A tip for choosing switches is not to lock yourself into one option. You can definitely control four different lighting zones with the control box, but you can also connect the touch sensor to the same lamps if you sometimes want to turn all the lights on or off simultaneously. You can also place a switch at each entrance to the room or kitchen, or have several switches in the kitchen to always have one within reach.
Extension Cables for LED Lighting
As accessories for our lamps and drivers, we also offer 2000mm extension cables. If you can place your driver on top of the kitchen cabinets or behind them, it is almost always necessary to have an extension for the LED lighting. When purchasing our LED spotlights, a 2000mm cable is included, but for a neat connection, additional extension cables are often needed. If you are unsure how many you need to buy, feel free to contact us, and we will be happy to assist you!
